Integrated Care Coordination Unit
Purpose and Overview
The Integrated Care Coordination Unit (ICCU) is a partnership between Region 4 Behavioral Health System, The Northern Service Area, Office of Protection and Safety, and Parent to Parent Network to serve youth and their families who are high-need state wards in North Central and Northeast Nebraska. The ICCU provides intensive case management utilizing the wraparound approach. Wraparound is a strengths-based process for providing services and supports that is individualized and based on the needs of the youth and his/her family. The Care Coordinators from both HHS and Region 4 are trained in the areas of Wrapaound and Protection and Safety which provides the opportunity to integrate the delivery of child welfare and juvenile justice services with the Wraparound philosophy of delivering services.
Parent to Parent Network is available to families and offers Care Partners who advocate, mentor and give support. Parent to Parent Network also assists in the data collection and evaluation process of the ICCU.
